The Brownstone Class is a highly individualized training environment. We don’t operate on a fixed curriculum, and we don’t evaluate applicants based on résumés, headshots, auditions, or perceived talent.
Our application is designed to help us determine whether our approach is likely to be useful to an applicant at this point in their development. In other words, we’re not deciding whether you’re a fit for us. We’re trying to determine whether we’re a fit for you.
Acceptance or deferment is not a judgment of your work, your potential, or your value as an artist. It reflects a specific set of criteria informed by timing, need, and the current composition of the class.
Because of the volume of applications we receive, not every applicant is accepted on their first submission. Applicants are always welcome to reapply after 90 days, and there is no cost to apply.
